Defining Moments - Art Contest
Defining Moment : Discovering Our Canadian Stories contest was held in 2012 across Canada to celebrate the diverse perspectives of Canadian Identity. Several youths aged 13 to 30 across Canada participated in this competition, and many genuine artworks displaying thoughtful reflections on the artist’s identity and life experiences in Canada were submitted from all parts of the country.
The top 26 contest winners were chosen and announced on Canada Day 2012, and all of our Granville Art students who participated in the competition were selected for the final Top 26.
Their art works exhibited in various locations across the country in 2012 and 2013.
Art Umbrella's Teen Scholarship
Remembrance Day National Art Contest
Each year, over 100,000 youth from across Canada participate in the Royal Canadian Legion’s poster and literary contests. Supported by the Royal Legion National Foundation, the contest encourages youth to honor and commemorate the spirit of sacrifice exhibited by Canada’s Veterans through creative art and writings. The Poster Contest is divided into color and B&W categories, and each work must correspond with the theme of Remembrance and what it means to the students.
